Gerrard and Skrtel played together at Liverpool for seven years and clearly had a great working relationship judging by the defender's comments on his former captain.
"I can say only good things about him," Skrtel said of Gerrard in 2015. "From the first day I came to Liverpool he was here to help me. He gave me a hand every single day with everything I needed. I need to say thanks for that."
Skrtel moved to Fenerbahce in 2016 for a fee of around £5 million and, as recently as last weekend, the Slovakian centre-half was showing off his toughness and dedication to the cause.
