For the third year on the spin, Ramos and his teammates won the European Cup, defeating Liverpool 3-1 in Kiev. The game might have been different had Mo Salah's evening lasted longer than half an hour. The Egyptian injured his shoulder after tangling with Ramos, leaving the pitch in tears minutes later. To many Liverpool supporters, this was undoubtedly a pivotal moment. Jürgen Klopp's side had been the better team in the early stages of the final, but Real began to take control of the game and create more chances almost as soon as Salah departed. Some of the Merseyside club's fans haven't taken it too well, either. Ramos has been accused of deliberately trying to injure Liverpool's top scorer in the time since, with hundreds of thousands signing as petition calling for the defender to be retrospectively banned as a result. Ramos has received plenty of abuse on social media for the incident, but it now appears that it hasn't just been on social media. COPE network (via the Mirror) report that the 32-year-old and members of his family have been forced to change their phone numbers after receiving several threatening calls. The report claims Ramos has received death threats from anonymous callers, reaching the stage where the matter has been reported by his agent to local police. Ramos wished Salah a speedy recovery following his injury which appeared to rule him out of this summer's World Cup in Russia. However, the Egyptian FA provided a positive update on the 25-year-old earlier this week. Posting on their Facebook page, they explained that Salah was on course to be fit in time for the tournament - Egypt's first World Cup since 1990 - with the recovery period anticipated to 'not exceed three weeks'.
