Raheem Sterling is having the most prolific season of his career at Manchester City this term thanks to the huge number of chances City create for their front three. Despite his 19 goals this season, he is still prone to missing the odd sitter. His shooting technique has never been great and this miss reminded us of that.
Most of City's chances come from overlapping runs followed by cut backs into the area for a forward to tap home and this one was no different. Kyle Walker made a lung-busting run down the right flank and Kevin de Bruyne found him with the type of perfectly weighted pass we've come to expect from the Belgian. Walker then crossed the ball along the ground in the six yard box, where Sterling was waiting at the back post to make it 2-0.
Somehow, he missed.
