Speaking on the Rothen s'enflamme podcast, he said: "We made the mistake in the past of recruiting two players in the same position.
"The transfer window is not good because we lack players in key positions and because we have an overlap of players in other positions."
Campos had been linked with the sporting director role at Chelsea as they look to find a new long-term appointment, with co-owner Todd Boehly currently acting as the Blues' interim sporting director.
