Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has been linked with a return to the Premier League.
Musiala is one of the brightest talents in world football and has established himself as a senior figure in the Bundesliga champions' starting XI, as well as the German national team.
So far, Musiala has featured 133 times for Bayern, scoring 32 times and registering 25 assists. Last season alone the youngster contributed towards 32 goals in 47 outings - including the late winner to secure Thomas Tuchel's side their 11th league title in a row.
The 20-year-old made the move to Bayern back in 2019 after rejecting the offer of a new contract from Chelsea however the midfielder is yet to begin discussions with his current employers over a new deal at the club, with his current contract set to expire in 2026.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have identified Musiala as a key target for Jurgen Klopp's plans going forward and are willing to test Bayern's resolve with an offer.
Liverpool have made huge changes to their midfield over the summer. After the likes of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and James Milner all departed, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo all joined, however Klopp still wants to bolster his options.
If Liverpool were to make a move, it is likely that they would face competition from several clubs with Real Madrid also interested in his signature as they try to entice some of the biggest names to join the club.
