Mohamed Elneny has committed his long-term future to Arsenal.

It was announced on Monday afternoon that the Egyptian midfielder, who arrived from FC Basel in January 2016, had inked an extension to stay at the North London club. https://twitter.com/Arsenal/status/978270866776756225 In truth, the news hardly came as much of a surprise. Not only had some reports claimed Elneny was close to agreeing a new deal at The Emirates, the tweet he sent shortly before the announcement was made was as good as confirmation. https://twitter.com/ElNennY/status/978266063971536901 Although there was barely 20 minutes between Elneny's tweet and official confirmation from the club, this was ample time for some of the Wenger Out Brigade to make the obvious joke. To them, the 'good news' Elneny had promised was interpreted as being the imminent departure of Arsene Wenger, who - as you might have heard - isn't every Arsenal supporter's cup of tea at this moment in time. https://twitter.com/AtIasLion/status/978266123820060673 https://twitter.com/JWNewark/status/978282449158463488 https://twitter.com/U8Rolls/status/978276249104773120 https://twitter.com/KiddyYusuf/status/978274342231425025 https://twitter.com/astronautovic14/status/978270469043507201 https://twitter.com/WilshTheWonder/status/978268513843535872 You get the gist. For now at least, it doesn't appear Wenger is going anywhere - especially not judging by the tweet which Elneny followed his announcement with... https://twitter.com/ElNennY/status/978276239466213376 After it emerged that Wenger's position as Arsenal boss will be reviewed at the end of the current campaign, it was reported over the weekend that he will be replaced by former Borussia Dortmund manager, Thomas Tuchel. Many Arsenal supporters, however, remain unconvinced that this is actually the case.
