Norwich identify individual who allegedly racially abused Crystal Palace players

The club released a statement condemning the incident

Norwich City have identified a supporter who is alleged to have directed racist comments towards the Crystal Palace players during their 3-0 defeat on Tuesday. The released a statement on their social media accounts condemning the incident, as well as confirming that online racial abuse had also been directed towards Norwich players themselves after the game. The statement read: "Following our game at Crystal Palace, the club were disappointed to learn of both online racist comments directed at some of our players, as well as alleged in-stadia racist comments directed at opposing players by our supporters. Such behaviour is not welcome in following and supporting Norwich City. "The club will continue to support those players affected, whilst demanding action from social media companies to ensure that users are held accountable for their unacceptable behaviour. No player, whether our player or an opposition player, should be subject to this type of abuse. "All at Norwich City will continue to do everything we can to eradicate all forms of unlawful discrimination from the game. Where identified, the club will support and impose the strongest possible sanctions against perpetrators of this behaviour." Norwich conceded three first-half goals as strikes from Odsonne Édourard, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Jeff Schlupp left them three points adrift at the bottom of the table with just 10 points to their name. Travelling supporters were also heard chanting 'You're not fit to wear the shirt' at half-time whilst some also directed their anger at Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour as they sang 'F**k off back to Chelsea.'
