Non-league footballer Christian Rowe, described by his club as one of their "most promising young players" has died in a road traffic accident at the age of 19.
Rowe played for Vanarama National League South outfit Slough Town, who confirmed the sad news in a statement on their club website.

It read: "It is with great sadness that we have to announce the tragic passing of Christian Rowe in a road traffic accident.
"This news has left everyone involved with Academy23, Slough Town FC and Binfield FC devastated and heartbroken. Both clubs’ first team and U23 fixtures due to take place this weekend have been postponed.
"Christian was regarded as one of Slough Town’s most promising young players, and this season had been a standout performer for the U23s and been involved in the first team squad.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Christian’s parents, family, friends, and teammates.
"We ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy at this incredibly difficult time."
Rowe had previously had trials with Premier League side Burnley and had been at Havant & Waterlooville before joining Slough's Academy in the summer.
The Premier League side posted a tweet to send their condolences.
They wrote: "Everyone at the Club sends their condolences to Christian's friends and family at this very sad time."

Following a short loan spell at Binfield FC, Rowe returned to the National League South side, where they had plans to integrate him into the first-team.
