The forward has been suspended ever since allegations first surfaced in January 2022. He was initially charged with one count of attempted rape, a count of assault and repeatedly engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.
He had been due to face trial in November this year,
Greenwood's contract runs until June 2025 and in a recent statement, Manchester United confirmed that he wouldn't be returning until they had conducted their "own process".
"Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps. We will not make any further comment until that process is complete," they said.
After the initial arrest of the forward, a number of Greenwood's sponsors cancelled their deals with him.
As well as those, popular video games FIFA and Football Manager also removed him from their database while United stopped selling merchandise with his name on it.
