Footage on social media shows a new angle of the shocking moment that a Tottenham fan kicks Aaron Ramsdale after Arsenal's 2-0 win in the north London derby. After the final whistle was blown on Sunday evening, Aaron Ramsdale was kicked by a Tottenham fan when he went to collect his towel from behind the goal. This prompted an angry reaction from his teammates, with Granit Xhaka having to be held back by manager Mikel Arteta as Arsenal claimed another big win to stretch their Premier League lead to eight points. Television cameras just managed to catch the moment that the Spurs fan stood on the advertising hoardings and lashed out as Ramsdale. Footage from the stands behind the goal though shows a new angle, including the buildup to the shocking incident. This seemed to upset Richarlison who pushed the Arsenal keeper away. Then, as Ramsdale went to retrieve his towel from behind the goal, a fan climbed over the advertising hoardings and kicked him in the back before being descended upon by stewards. The social media footage shows the fan, who had his face covered by a scarf, lurching forward in an attempt to boot the goalie.

He then quickly jumps away, retreating into the stand as the crowd makes its way out of the ground.

The incident prompted widespread condemnation from fans of both the north London rivals.

Speaking about the flashpoint after the game, Ramsdale told Sky Sports: "The Spurs fans gave me some throughout the game. I was giving some back. "The people I did give it to greeted it in sportsmanlike terms but one fan tried to give me a little punch on the back.

"It is a shame as it is just a game of football, at the end of the day. Both sets of players tried to bring me away but thankfully nothing too drastic happened. It is a sour taste but I’m sure we will enjoy it when we go back into the dressing room."

"We deserved the two-goal lead and maybe deserved more," he added. "We played the way we wanted to play in the first half and got the deserved lead." In a statement, Tottenham said the fan in question would be receiving an "immediate ban" from the stadium, Related links:
