Situated in Leigh, ten miles west of Manchester, the Sports Village's 12,000 capacity stadium was built ten years ago. The town's professional rugby league side, Leigh Centurions, moved there from their previous home at Hilton Park and United have also used the stadium in recent years as a home ground for their U-23 and U-19 men's teams.
United's application to the FA to launch their women's team is expected to be a formality, with an announcement due at the end of May. Should they be successful, confirmation of their use of Leigh Sports Village is expected to be announced soon after.
