Former Liverpool defender Joel Matip has reportedly been offered a return to the Premier League, as per numerous sources.
The 33-year-old enjoyed an eight year spell in Merseyside, winning the Champions League and Premier League, and left the club in May.
Since then, he has remained a free agent and has been linked with several clubs.
However, a recent report breaking shows that East London outfit West Ham United have posed an interest in the player.
The Hammers have seen both defenders Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd leave on this loan this summer and are reportedly looking for defensive reinforcements.
Julen Lopetegui's outfit have already brought in the likes of Max Kilman for £40m and Jean-Clair Todibo on loan with an option to sign him for £34.2m next summer at the back.
Liverpool announced the hugely popular figure would leave the club back in May through a heartfelt statement regarding his service to the club:
'It has been eight wonderful years here in Liverpool,' he said.
'I was allowed to be part of an exciting history with a great coach and an astonishing team in an extraordinary club. We have achieved great titles and have the best fans in the world.'
