Jack Wilshere injured again after unfortunate incident

It had all been going so well for Jack Wilshere.

The Arsenal midfielder played every minute of their last six Premier League games, impressing over the busy Christmas and New Year period when there's little pause between matches. Wilshere had, at one point, went three years without completing a full game for the Gunners, and had spent last season as a squad player on-loan with Bournemouth. So, to feature in so many matches in such a short space of time, and to play very well, would have been extremely encouraging for the player and for Arsenal fans. After his goal against Chelsea last week, and talk of a new contract offer being on the table, things were looking up for the midfielder. There has even been talk of a place in Gareth Southgate's team for the World Cup - then Wilshere injures his ankle again. Wilshere captained Arsenal in the first-leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, and impressed in the goalless first-half. https://twitter.com/Squawka/status/951187957754548225 However, he was forced-off injured just a few minutes into the second-half following a seemingly innocuous incident with Danny Drinkwater. The Chelsea midfielder's cross was blocked by Wilshere. The ball went out for a corner, and Wilshere went down to the ground to receive treatment on his ankle from the Arsenal medical team.
