Granit Xhaka signs new long-term contract with Arsenal

Arsenal today announced that midfielder Granit Xhaka has signed a new long-term contract with the club. He’s an important member of the squad and is still young so will be able to develop even more. Xhaka has been widely criticised during his time at Arsenal for sloppy mistakes after he was signed from Borussia Mönchengladbach to tighten up Arsenal's midfield. Many fans are optimistic that his performances will pick up under Emery. Xhaka is currently with Switzerland for the World Cup, with new teammate Stephan Lichtsteiner who recently joined Arsenal on a free transfer from Juventus.
