Former PSG striker has leg amputated due to ‘after-effects’ of playing career

A former Paris Saint-Germain striker has had one of his legs amputated as a result of the "constant suffering" he has experienced since retiring from football. Bruno Rodriguez, a French former footballer, spent a large majority of his career playing in his native country and also had a loan spell in the Premier League with Bradford City in 1999 - where he only made two appearances. Rodriguez only spent one season at PSG too, where he made 16 appearances across the 1999-2000 season after joining from Metz where he had scored 28 goals in 53 games. The Union Nationale des Footballeurs Professionels (UNFP) confirmed the news about the 49-year-old in a post which read: "He was one of the strikers who marked our football from the early 90s to the heart of the 2000s.
