Liverpool confirm Emre Can is amongst those leaving Anfield this summer

No great surprise...

Liverpool have confirmed that Emre Can will leave the club this summer. The German international has been strongly linked with a move to Juventus in recent months and will depart Anfield when his contract expires at the end of the month. Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen four years ago, making 167 appearances for the Merseyside club - the last of which came in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev last month. He is now widely expected to join the Italian champions, with reports claiming he's already agreed personal terms. Academy graduate Jon Flanagan will also leave the club seven years on from making his first-team debut. The 25-year-old played regularly for the club as they challenged for the Premier League title in the 2013/14 but had not featured for the senior side since the Carabao Cup defeat to Leicester City last September. The departures were announced in Liverpool's Premier League released and retained statement which also confirmed the club would be letting go of youth players Toni Gomes, Paulo Alves, Mich'el Parker, Jordan Williams, Anthony Glennon, Jordan Hunter and Harvey Whyte. Yan Dhanda, the statement added, had agreed to a free transfer to Swansea City following their relegation from the Premier League.
