Last year, PSV striker Eran Zahavi's wife and three children were tied and gagged-up after their family home was broken into.
Zahavi was forced to leave PSV's game against Willem as he returned home to look after his family. The criminals left with personal items and money too.
The forward posted an emotional statement thanking people for their support. "I want to thank everyone for the support and pain they show towards my wife and children.
"It is important for us to make it clear that we appreciate this very much and feel very loved in the Netherlands."
Steven Bergwijn and Siem de Jong have also been a number of top-flight players targeted by burglars in the Netherlands in recent years. Footballers are no strangers to being targeted, with Serie A players suffering numerous attempts throughout 2021, in particular.
