David De Gea saved Manchester United's blushes twice in quick succession as he saved two penalties against Watford at Vicarage Road. The hosts were awarded a spot-kick after Scott McTominay was judged to have fouled Josh King in the box after Bruno Fernandes' ballooned ball into the air put United in danger. With that, Ismaila Sarr stepped up from 12 yards but was denied as the Spaniard guessed right and dived down to his right to parry the ball away, however the rebound had been followed up by Kiko Femenia to put the Hornets 1-0 up - or so they thought.

After a look from VAR, Watford were instructed to retake the penalty after an encroachment in the area from both teams.

Once again, Sarr stepped up from 12 yards as he looked to try to thwart De Gea and score at the second time of asking, but the United number one responded to the challenge once again as the Watford winger placed his effort to the right, which De Gea correctly read.

United and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are in desperate need of a win but find themselves 2-0 down at Vicarage Road after former United academy graduate King put Claudio Ranieri's side ahead with a deserved lead, and Ismaila Sarr doubled their cushion before the break. Related links:
