Beckham could be set for a return to Man United
David Beckham will reportedly be given the chance to return to Manchester United if Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is successful in his takeover pursuit.
United have been up for sale since November 2022 but progress on any move has stalled. Sheikh Jassim and INEOS owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the two in contention to become the new owners of the Red Devils.
Other reports have claimed that due to the slow progress in takeover talks, the Glazers may take the club off the market and put them back up for sale again in 2025.
According to talkSPORT presenter Anil Kandola, Beckham has been in contact with the Qatari contingent about becoming more vocal in their bid to buy United.
He said: “Was told last night that David Beckham has been in direct contact with the Qataris & has been requested to become more vocal in his support of the bid for #MUFC.
“He’s been offered an ‘International Ambassador’ role if Qatar are successful in their acquisition of United.”
Beckham was asked about the ongoing takeover dilemma during the Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix but remained coy on the situation.
“We are one of the, if not the biggest club in the world. We want stability. I think that’s the most important thing,” he said.
“We all have our favourites of who we feel needs to run the club and look after the club to take it back to where it belongs.
“In our eyes, in the fans eyes, we are number one. We want to be back at the top and I believe I know the right people to do that so we’ll see!”
