Cristian Romero was shown a straight red card during Tottenham's game against Chelsea.
Spurs made a lightning quick start to the game as Dejan Kulusevski's effort deflected off Levi Colwill to wrong-foot Robert Sanchez and put the hosts in front.
Ange Postecoglou's side thought they had then doubled their lead when Heung-min Son finished off an excellent attacking move only to be ruled out for a tight offside.
Destiny Udogie then received a yellow card for a late-timed tackle on Raheem Sterling - a decision Gary Neville felt should've been upgraded to a red.
Sterling then thought he'd equalised however his effort was ruled out for a handball but in the background Romero was caught red-handed.
After falling to the ground, Romero then kicked out at Colwill but avoided any punishment as VAR opted not to look at the decision.
Chelsea then thought they had equalised once more as Moises Caicedo's long-range effort but it was ruled out for offside as Nicolas Jackson was deemed to be interfering with play.
Romero was once again involved in further controversy as footage showed him following through on a clearance into the leg of Enzo Fernandez with his studs up.
After a lengthy debate via VAR, referee Michael Oliver sent Romero off - much to the anger of Spurs fans - before Cole Palmer converted from the penalty spot to equalise.
