Inter Milan wrote in a statement on Thursday confirming the news by saying: "With reference to the registration rights of the player Eriksen, it should be noted that following a serious injury which occurred during the European Championship in June 2021, the player has been temporarily inhibited by the Italian medical authority from sporting activity in the current season.
"Although the current conditions of the player don't meet the requirements of achieving sporting fitness in Italy, the same could instead be achieved in other countries where the player could resume competitive activity."
Eriksen has yet to feature this season and it is unclear if he will play for Simone Inzaghi's again with the news now that he can leave the San Siro. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder isn't the only player to be fitted with an ICD. Former Manchester United and current Holland and Ajax defender Daley Blind is also fitted with one and continues to play domestic football. Meanwhile over in Austria, a player's life was saved after he suffered a cardiac arrest during a game for his side, but was thankfully saved by an ICD he had fitted last year.
