Bridge had one of the busier days among the dispatched Sky Sports News reporters on Transfer Deadline Day.
As he waited outside Crystal Palace's training ground, providing updates on Jordan Ayew's proposed move to Selhurst Park, the Sky reporter was drenched by a car which splashed the contents of a puddle all over his trousers.
The culprit was quickly revealed to be Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt, who apologised and offered Bridge some clothes to keep warm.
Van Aanholt came face to face with Bridge after training and after giving the journalist a pair of official Eagles shorts, the full-back said sorry in person.

"The water was there and I couldn't avoid it. But I'm sorry, bro!" Van Aanholt said through stifled laughter.
No sooner had Bridge's trousers dried when he was given an ominous warning by Palace centre-forward Christian Benteke.
Apparently, the club's dressing room became a betting market about who could give Bridge the biggest soaking after training.

Fans were memorably banned from broadcasts on deadline day due to some infamous issues in years gone by (purple dildo, ahem) but it turns out that it's not much safer being around professional athletes either because everyone just wants to mess with reporters.
