It's also been reported that Olivier Giroud is set to leave The Emirates for Chelsea, with Arsenal fans expressing their anger at the transfer fee they are supposedly set to receive for the French international.
So, why exactly would Arsenal allow one of their players to head to a rival for such a low fee? Well, perhaps (or perhaps not) the Daily Star have the answer.
They claim that Antonio Conte is willing to let Brazilian international David Luiz head in the opposite direction as part of a deal for Giroud.
They explain that Giroud's move to Chelsea could prove crucial to Arsenal getting Aubameyang. If Giroud completes a move, Michy Batshuayi will be free to move to Dortmund from Chelsea - thus allowing the Gabonese striker to finalise his big-money move to Arsenal. Still following? Good.
