Carlos Carvalhal will leave Swansea City at the end of the season.
The home defeat to Southampton on Tuesday night along with Huddersfield Town's 1-1 draw Chelsea 24 hours later has left the Swans almost certain to be relegated from the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
They sit three points behind Southampton but are nine goals worse off in terms of goal difference. To stand a chance, they must beat already relegated Stoke and hope Manchester City beat Southampton. If this happens, they will only stay up if there is a ten-goal swing.
Carvalhal had been in discussions about extending his existing deal at the club, which expires at the end of the season. However, it is now reported that the Swansea board have opted not to renew the Portuguese's deal.
