The 29-year-old will be required to undergo a more complicated and thorough medical procedure which will require Brentford to conduct a cardiology report on the Denmark international, which would then be reviewed by the Football Association.
Eriksen hasn't played since suffering a cardiac arrest during Denmark's game against Finland in the European Championships last summer and has been a free agent since leaving Inter Milan in December.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man wasn't allowed to play for the Serie A due to having an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) fitted - with league rules stating that Eriksen must remove the device if he wished to play in Italy.
Eriksen himself has said he is comfortable to play and that his heart is "not an obstacle" that will prevent him from playing. If a deal is completed, the Denmark international will become the first player in Premier League history to play with a fitted ICD.
As part of his preparations to return to professional football, Eriksen had been training in his homeland before building up his fitness Switzerland.
Most recently he has been training with former club Ajax as he prepares for a historic return to football.
