The player's side Bangkok FC confirmed he was released in a statement
A Thai footballer playing for a third division side in Bangkok has been sacked after he attacked an opponent with a violent elbow on Sunday.
Aitsaret Noichaiboon was seen elbowing Supasan Ruangsuphanimit in the fifth minute of stoppage time after being clipped on the heel by his opponent as he ran to collect the ball for a throw-in.
The clip was not overly malicious, but Noichaiboon was left incensed by the act and walked over to Ruangsuphanimit.
He then proceeded to unleash a violent Muay-Thai-style elbow, causing Ruangsuphanimit to fall straight to the ground. Noichaiboon was immediately shown a red card whilst Ruangsuphanimit was instantly taken to hospital - where he needed 24 stitches.

A statement from Noichaiboon's club later confirmed that they had sacked him from the club with immediate effect.
It said: "Bangkok FC would like to take a stand and not support the action.
"The club has cancelled the contract of the player.
"The club would like to express our condolences for the incident and will do everything possible to stop this happening again."
Meanwhile Ruangsuphanimit's side, North Bangkok University, released a statement of their own to confirm Ruangsuphanimit had been taken to hospital for treatment and that he required up to 24 stitches.
"He has undergone a physical examination at Bangpakok-Rangsit 2 Hospital after player No 6 of the Bangkok FC club intentionally attacked his face," they said.
"After seeing a doctor they found that the upper lip area has a severe wound. The doctor therefore sewed a total of 24 stitches to cover the wound.
"The club will provide care and responsibility."
