Arsenal have completed the signing of Lucas Torreira, according to reports from highly respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.
It was suggested that the deal would be put on hold during for the World Cup, but it seems the deal has been rushed through in order to allow the 22-year-old to Russia with no distractions.
Uruguay will begin their World Cup campaign against Egypt on Friday. La Celeste go into that tie as favourites as Egypt will probably have to leave out Mo Salah, who is still recovering from his shoulder injury.

Arsenal agreed a fee of £26m for the young Uruguayan midfielder earlier this week, with the club set to announce his signing imminently.
Torreira has been compared to both N'golo Kanté as well as Santi Cazorla for his relentless pressing, ball-winning ability and his close control.
A well rounded player, he would provide Arsenal with a much needed injection of quality in the centre of midfield, and could play alongside either Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey or Mohamed Elneny, or alternatively play as part of a midfield three.
Arsenal have already announced the signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus on a free transfer and are still pursuing Sokratis Papastathopolous from Borussia Dortmund.
