Floyd Mayweather teases first MMA fight in Instagram announcement post

The 50-0 Floyd Mayweather will take on unbeaten kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa

Floyd Mayweather has teased his MMA federation debut via an image on social media in which he wears a traditional boxing glove, as well as an open-finger glove usually worn in mixed martial arts. The post came as it was announced that the 50-0 boxer will take on unbeaten kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa in Japan on New Year's Eve. The 41-year-old boxer captioned the image: "December 31st 2018 #Tokyo" https://www.instagram.com/p/BpyCaoFhH0q/?utm_source=ig_embed Rizin Fighting Federation are co-promoting the announced fight, which has been dubbed a ‘Super Challenge’ bout. It has yet to be confirmed whether the fight will be under a boxing or kickboxing code, with it only stipulated that the one-on-one will take place under "special rules". “Rizin has done a remarkable job with the fighters,” Mayweather said. “I look forward to giving you guys entertainment come December 31, but my relationship with Rizin, it doesn’t stop just here. I look forward to taking this worldwide.” Floyd Mayweather’s last fight was against UFC's Conor McGregor last year, while Nasukawa last fought and won against Kyoji Horiguchi in the main event of RIZIN. “I would probably say that this is my biggest event in life, so far,” said Nasukawa.“I’m very happy that this is going to materialise. “Nobody has defeated my opponent in the past and I would like to be the man who makes history. “My punch can change the history and I will show that to you, so please stay tuned.”
