Last season's woes at Manchester United have continued this year at Stamford Bridge. The Colombian has just one goal in 11 games and has been injured since October.
It now looks like the on-loan Monaco striker will be injured for the rest of January, meaning Chelsea could be saddled with him until the end of the season.
The club were open to sending the 29-year-old back to the Ligue 1 club. However, Monaco have the final say on cancelling the deal, and are unlikely to want to take back an expensive, injured player.
