Just admit it. It’s fine. You’d forgotten that this midweek round of fixtures meant there was another gameweek in Fantasy Premier League football, hadn’t you? We all had, it’s ok. I’m here to help, once again, with five tips on who to transfer in.
1. Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace, £6.7m
Crystal Palace got their first victory in nine matches at the weekend, winning comprehensively 2-0 against Burnley. It was a crucial confidence boosting win ahead of their trip to the south coast for the M23 derby against Brighton tomorrow. In light of that, Wilfried Zaha is a must have for this midweek round of games. Palace’s talisman has scored four times in his last four league appearances against the Seagulls, including three uncharacteristic headers.
2. Gabriel Jesus – Manchester City, £10.1m
With Sergio Aguero out injured, Gabriel Jesus will get the chance to make his mark in the number 9 slot for Manchester City. He should have ample chances to score too, given the wealth of creativity in the City team. The champions travel down to Vicarage Road this week to take on a Watford side who are without a win in their last four matches. It’s a no brainer to get Jesus in your team. Only 1.3% of managers currently have him in their side, so get in early.
3. Glenn Murray – Brighton, £6.7m
Like a fine wine, Glenn Murray seems to improve with age. The 35-year-old is in the form of his life and will be keen to score against his former club, Crystal Palace, after they let him go in 2015. He’s only been selected by 6.2% of managers and is an excellent choice of mid-range striker to accompany a big name in your forward line.
4. Alexandre Lacazette – Arsenal, £9.6m
After scoring in the north London derby at the weekend, the Frenchman will surely return to the starting line-up for Arsenal’s clash with Manchester United, who are going through an injury crisis in defence. He has six goals to his name this season and costs £1.4m cheaper than his strike partner, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and usually starts through the middle.
5. Felipe Anderson – West Ham, £7.1m
The Brazilian has amassed 64 points this season and only costs £7.1m. That’s value if I’ve ever seen it. Anderson has four goals in his last four league games, and will be looking to make that five in five as West Ham host Cardiff City at the London Stadium this week.
