Feyenoord fans’ en masse trolling massively confuses AS Roma star

Take a bow

Quick, while no one’s looking, give the Confederations Cup to Feyenoord.

What do you mean there’s still no one looking at the Confederations Cup? While we’re giving the trophy to Feyenoord could we also kidnap Cristiano Ronaldo and bring him to Old Trafford… for the craic?

We’ll tidy up the remnants of that lead balloon and soldier on.

Feyenoord fans are doing a wonderful thing to Stephan El Shaarawy’s Instagram account. Under his recent posts, they’ve all been posting comments welcoming him to the Eredivisie club.

There’s just one problem with what Feyenoord fans are doing – he hasn’t signed for them. He hasn’t even been linked to them.

He’s not close to signing for them. He’s not being linked to them, nor has he ever, to the best of our knowledge, been rumoured with a move to the Dutch team.

Which is why he took a screenshot of some of all those red and white emojis and ‘welcome to Feyenoord’ responses and uploaded them to his Instagram story accompanied with the confused and laughing emojis.

It appears as though poor old Stephan hasn’t got a clue what’s going on. However, thanks to Reddit user Feij’s explanation, we’re pretty sure we do.

Feyenoord’s Rick Karsdorp is being linked with a move to AS Roma. Fans of the Serie A club have been hounding the Dutch player online to put pen to paper on a deal to make the transfer official.

So Feyenoord fans decided to fight back and give Roma a taste of their own medicine. They chose to give El Shaarawy the same treatment. This is quite humorous considering his estimated value on Transfermarkt is €17 million, meaning he is well out of their price range.

We must give credit where it’s due, this is actually pretty funny.
