Fergie: Ronaldo could score a hat-trick for anyone – I’m not sure Messi could

That's my boy...

Sir Alex Ferguson has had his say on the whole ‘Ronaldo vs Messi’ debate – Cristiano could do it on a cold, wet night in Doncaster. Messi? He’s not so sure…

Speaking to John Parrot on the BBC whilst enjoying a game of snooker, Ferguson was full of praise for the Barca genius but waxed lyrical about Ronaldo’s broad range of skills and amazing versatility.

“Ronaldo could play for anyone – Millwall, QPR, Doncaster Rovers – and score a hat-trick in a game. I’m not sure Messi could do it,” said the legendary manager.

He also suggested the Argentine may be best suited to Barcelona’s very particular style of play, rather than having the Portuguese marvel’s ability to play for anyone.

“Ronaldo has two feet, he’s quick, great in the air, brave… Messi’s brave of course. I think Messi is a Barcelona player – you know what I mean?”

Yes we do, Sir Alex. Yes we do.
