Knockout monster Mike Perry has kept his pristine record intact with a sensational win in Manchester.
With "God's Gift" tattooed on his stomach and a "Platinum" tattoo across his eyebrow, Perry was never going to be the most popular guys in the UFC. However, with nine professional wins in as many fights all coming by way of knockout, two of which were in the UFC, it cannot be denied that he's a real talent inside the cage.
Perry came out on top against London-born Danny "Hot Chocolate" Roberts in UFC 204's featured early preliminary bout, in what is sure to go down as one of the best fights of the year.
The American came out swinging from the get-go, with Roberts countering well and keeping his range well in the early exchanges. However, Perry's power advantage became prevalent towards the end of the first stanza as he began to punish his opponent with heavy haymakers.
Roberts' chin was the star of the second round as he withstood some powerful strikes while managing to stay standing until the final round. Perry had never heard the final buzzer in any of his previous fights, and he clearly didn't want to change that habit for this one as he went out to make good on his promise that he was "going to kill" Roberts when they met inside the Octagon.
Perry got the finish in the third, hurting Roberts with a huge knee and punches before knocking him out cold on the ground.

It was a truly terrifying finish, but a lot of people felt referee Marc Goddard could have stepped in sooner as Roberts appeared to go limp before Perry landed a couple of vicious punches on the ground. Fight fans may remember Goddard as the man in the middle for Cathal Pendred's epic comeback win against Mike King at UFC Dublin in 2014.
