Sancho starred in Dortmund’s victory

Fans have hailed Jadon Sancho’s performance as Borussia Dortmund booked their place in the quarter finals of the Champions League.

Sancho scored the opening goal on the night as Dortmund won 2-0 to progress to the last eight with a 3-1 aggregate win against PSV Eindhoven.

It was the Manchester United loanee’s second goal in as many games as he opened his account in the win against Werder Bremen last weekend.

Sancho praised for making ‘best decision’

The 23-year-old was one of the standout players for the German side and caught the eyes of those watching on.

One user wrote: “He is showing his worth in Dortmund. Nice Goal.”

Another said: “Playing for a big club that treat players well – confidence has returned and looking back on form.

“Best decision to leave Utd and play Champions league football,” commented a third.

“Man showing Ten Hag the he made a mistake for letting him leave for Dortmund,” said another.

‘Dortmund is where I made my name’

After the game Sancho spoke to TNT and thanked Dortmund for taking him back following a tricky few months that saw him fall out of the first team picture entirely after a public falling out with Erik ten Hag.

“I’ve always got a special place for Borussia Dortmund,” he said.

“This is where I kind of made my name.

“I’ve got to be grateful to them, but also to my team-mates, just for believing in me. I’m just happy that we got the win today.

“Coming into the game, we knew it was going to be tough, but I felt like coming into this game, we always had the advantage because we’re playing in front of our home fans.

“From the beginning of the game, I just knew from the dressing room team talk, we were on it. From the first whistle to the last, we just stuck at our game plan and I’m just happy that we got the win.”
