On Wednesday, as Jurgen Klopp's side opened their Champions League campaign against Ajax in Amsterdam, Fabinho dropped back from his usual berth in midfield to help cover the Dutchman. And the Brazilian was responsible for preserving Liverpool's slender lead as the game approached half-time. A ball lofted over the top to Dusan Tadic saw the former Southampton man lift the ball over Adrian in the Liverpool goal.
