Eurostar is banning alcohol on selected Euro 2016 trains

Tom Victor

England fans travelling to games via Eurostar may be unable to drink alcohol on board.

The cross-channel train service has confirmed certain trains will be entirely alcohol-free, while others will be offering a restricted alcohol service.

For those with a restricted service, fans will be limited to four cans of beer or a bottle of wine in their take-on luggage, with spirits forbidden.

Almost all trains leaving the UK on the day of England’s opening game will be alcohol-free, as will the train from London to Marseille (where England face Russia) on the previous day.

England Training Session & Press Conference

On June 16, when England face Wales in Lens, alcohol will not be permitted on any train leaving the UK before 11am.

Only eight of the 39 journeys from England to France on the previous day will allow alcohol.

In fact, as a brief guideline, your train from England to France is more likely than not to be dry (or at least restricted), but your return trip ought to be fine. It’s worth checking though, just to be sure.
