European club set to offer an insane amount of money for just a sliver of Andrea Pirlo

Turkish delight

The loan market is usually used by clubs who cannot afford massive pricetags.

But things change just a little bit when Andrea Pirlo is involved.

We’re approaching the annual MLS loan raid and the Italian playmaker is top of the wishlist for a number of European clubs.

Many expected Pirlo to return to Inter, the club for whom he appeared for just 22 times as a youngster, but it’s a less obvious club that have thrown their hat into the ring in extraordinary circumstances.

New York City FC v Los Angeles Galaxy

Gazzetta World report that Turkish club Antalyaspor are willing to offer the New York City FC midfielder €2m (£1.4m) to join up with them in the MLS off-season.

That works out as just eight games in the Turkish Süper Lig – which means that Pirlo could find himself earning €250,000 (£175,000) for every game he plays.

We would call that silly money but it’s Andrea Pirlo so we call it a bargain.
