Manchester United have confirmed the sacking of Erik ten Hag, and now will look to replacements, with many different managers linked.
In the immediate future, Ruud van Nistelrooy will take over as interim manager.
Joining in the summer as an assistant, he will now have an opportunity to manage the first team.
Regarding long-term successors, there has been links to Xavi Hernandez, former manager of Barcelona.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, talks are underway between CEO Omar Berrada and the Catalonian gaffer.
Xavi would like to bring in high profile former Red Devils players, as it is understood that he can't manage the project single-handedly.
His wife posted a photo of the manager with his son, who was posing in a United shirt, only last night.
Another option linked is Brentford's Thomas Frank.
When questioned on the prospect of managing a 'big club' last week, Frank stated how he would be open to the possibility, but admitted it wouldn't make 'his life any better'.
The Bees, having entered their fourth consecutive Premier League season, currently sit ninth in the league.
Meanwhile, the biggest shock name is that of Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer who has 'not been ruled out' according to the Manchester Evening News.
Finally, Gareth Southgate has been long linked with the Red Devils, and he remains on the shortlist of candidates.
