England Vs Scotland: The team news is in ahead of the Wembley showdown

For the first time this millennium, England host Scotland in a competitive match at Wembley.

Having won two of their first three qualifiers for Russia 2018 (drawing their last one away in Slovenia), England sit top of the group heading in to the match. As for Scotland, they're in fourth following a disappointing 1-1 draw at home with Lithuania and a 3-0 defeat in Slovakia in their last outings, meaning they could really do with a win under the Wembley arch to jump start their qualification hopes. As was confirmed earlier in the week, Wayne Rooney starts for England with the captain's armband. Joe Hart remains his country's first choice goalkeeper, with Daniel Sturridge - not always a regular starter with his club these days - also being given the nod to start the match by Gareth Southgate.
