England fans will not have the chance to give the national team a heroes’ welcome upon return from World Cup

Many England fans had been hoping to give their World Cup heroes a warm welcome upon their return from Russia. However, it has been revealed that they will not get the chance, after the FA decided against putting on an open top bus parade. England exceeded all expectations by reaching the semi-finals only to lose to Croatia 2-1 in extra time. They then lost the third place playoff to Belgium 2-0, confirming their 4th place finish in the tournament. And while much of the hysteria surrounding the national team has died down, the squad have still achieved so much by reconnecting a nation with its football team.
