England fans have nicked the Will Grigg song for a chant of their own

Happy Will Grigg day everyone!

Northern Ireland are kicking off their Euro 2016 campaign this Sunday with a game against Poland and all eyes will be on striker Will Grigg.

The Wigan and Northern Ireland forward is the man of the moment after Latics fan Sean Kennedy created the catchy “Will Grigg’s on Fire” chant to praise the 24 goal striker.

Expect pandemonium any time Grigg scores for Northern Ireland this Euro 2016. Everyone has been singing “Will Grigg’s on fire” chant, and by that we mean everyone, as this new fan video shows England fans in Marseille nicking the chant to give it a new remix.

Decked out head to toe in England flag morph suits, our merry band of eight England fans are giving it the Will Grigg cheer, singing about how their airstrip (we think, the boys have had a few bevvies so it can be hard to tell) is on fire.

Party on boys, England fans will need something to sing about following their disappointing 1-1 draw with Russia on Saturday.

UPDATE: It appears our England fans have been chanting about Marcus Rashford’s goalscoring form. We have to say, that makes a damn sight more sense.

Back to Northern Ireland fans, and it seems they’ve been teaching Polish fans the Will Grigg chant. Call it payment for the Poznan.

Not had enough Will Grigg? Check out our interview with Gala, the Italian singer-songwriter behind the original “Freed from Desire” song that Sean Kennedy so cleverly remixed.

Go on Will Grigg. Score for us. We want to be singing this one all summer long.
