The World Cup has officially arrived

As England’s opener at the 2026 World Cup against Croatia is only a few hours away, hundreds of England fans have downed more than 5,000 beers ahead of the game.

Hundreds of fans have defied pleas from police to move on from a Dallas club downing thousands of pints in the process, as The Three Lions prepare to take on Croatia at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium on Wednesday.

As the pub advertised a later closing time, just before 10pm, England fans were ordered to move on by bar staff and two police officers.

Eventually the pub was closed while many remained on the balcony outside the building for another couple of hours.

The venue reached maximum capacity

The Londoner Pub still had many England supporters present until late on Tuesday night, while according to officers, the early closure was due to the venue reaching maximum capacity, as only two security guards were on duty.

The Londoner managed to sell 2,352 bottles of beer, more than 5,000 beers in total, making more than £30,000 from the evening, before closing its doors, it has been reported.

Dozens of Dallas Police Department vehicles lined the road outside and officers stood looking up at the English fans, who chanted loudly, as they remained on the pub’s balcony.

A very small group of fans could also be seen dropping plants off the edge of the balcony, while many of them spent around an hour kicking a football up and down the road and the balcony.

The fans later cleaned up the mess they created

At the end of the evening many England fans stayed to help bar staff clean up mess created during the course of the evening.

The fans created a sea of St George’s flags, turning out in fancy dress and singing popular chants as they braved the hot Dallas sunshine, at the beginning of the event.

Earlier during the evening there was no police presence, as fans wearing England-themed costumes and draped in St George’s flags filled the pub, with chants of “It’s Coming Home” and “Don’t take me home”.

Prior to the Croatia match, Three Lions captain Harry Kane said that “it’s one of the best opportunities we will have as a team to win it” and recognised the anticipation of fans, adding: “I want the fans to have that excitement, whether they’re here or back home.”
