Put simply, this week has been a bit of a disaster for England.

In the wake of arguably England's most embarrassing footballing failure, Roy Hodgson has already stepped down from his role as head coach after recording just three wins in his three tournaments as England boss.
But fans won't be satisfied until everyone involved in Monday night's mess pays for their crimes, with many (unsurprisingly) calling on England captain Wayne Rooney
to follow Lionel Messi's lead and retire from international football.

For many, Rooney's involvement in the team was symbolic of England's failure to utilise their best players.
