England cricketer James Taylor forced to retire due to serious heart condition, aged 26

England and Nottinghamshire batsman James Taylor has been forced to call time on his cricket career due to a serious heart condition.

Recent scans on the 26-year-old have revealed a similar problem to the one that forced footballer Fabrice Muamba to end his career, reports the BBC. 'Throughout his career, he has constantly impressed with his determination to make the absolute most of his ability,' Strauss explained. 'It is immensely cruel that such a hard working player will be unable to fulfil his great potential in the international arena.'
