England announce first squad of the 2026/27 season

Fresh from the World Cup semifinal heartbreak, Thomas Tuchel has made some tweaks to his side, with the team revealed below.

In goal, the experienced Jason Steele of Brighton & Hove Albion comes in, alongside Leeds' James Trafford and the everpresent Jordan Pickford.

In defence, mainstays Marc Guehi and Ezri Konsa remain, alongside Nico O'Reilly and Lewis Hall.

The main surprise may be the return of Real Madrid's Trent Alexander-Arnold, who missed out on the World Cup squad in North America.
