England and Scotland drawn together in same World Cup qualifying group

JOE

England and Scotland have been paired together in the same group as they vie to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

They are joined by Slovakia, Slovenia, Lithuania and Malta in the relatively easy (on paper) Group F.

Wales also have familiar opponents in the shape of the Republic of Ireland, as well as Austria, Serbia, Moldova and Georgia in Group D.

Northern Ireland have the unenviable task of facing Germany. Both are in Group C alongside Czech Republic, Norway, Azerbaijan and San Marino.
