Eight Premier League bosses took bungs, agents tell Telegraph undercover investigators

The investigation has unearthed new shocking claims

The fallout from the Telegraph investigation which led to England manager Sam Allardyce losing his job has continued, with agents telling undercover reporters that as many as EIGHT current or recent Premier League managers have taken bungs.

A number of agents are caught on camera allegedly admitting to the reporters that “under-the-table” deals have taken place at the top level of English football, with the filming taking place as part of an investigation which has been ongoing for several months.

And Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol has claimed separately that lawyers for one manager have acted to prevent the Telegraph naming him in a story due to be published on Wednesday.

“There’s one thing I’ve always been able to rely on, and that is the greed of general managers,” agent Pino Pagliara is reportedly filmed saying in the footage.

He alleges that one unnamed former manager of a ‘high-profile’ club “used to work only with agents that used to share money”.

Allardyce left his England role with immediate effect on Tuesday after the Telegraph‘s investigation revealed footage of the 61-year-old discussing ways to get around third-party ownership rules.

But when asked about bungs, he is recorded saying: “You can’t pay a player, you can’t pay a manager, you can’t pay a CEO. It used to happen 20 odd years ago, 30 years ago. You can’t do it now. You can’t do it now. Don’t ever go there.”

Agent Scott McGarvey, who issued a statement through a spokesperson regarding his involvement in the footage involving Allardyce, is alleged by the Telegraph to have named some of the same names as Pagliara in terms of managers who have taken bungs.

McGarvey is allegedly filmed recalling a time where he paid an unnamed manager £30,000 in cash.

Meanwhile another agent, Dax Price, is filmed saying “it’s almost like corruption is just staring you in the face”.
