Eddie Hearn vs. David Higgins on the undercard in Cardiff, anyone?

There is clearly no love lost between the camps of Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker ahead of their recently confirmed unification showdown on March 31.

‘AJ’ hopes to add Parker’s WBO heavyweight title to his already impressive collection when they finally share the ring at the Principality Stadium and while Joshua tends to steer clear of trash talk, we can expect plenty from the Kiwi over the coming weeks and months.

Parker has been less than complimentary towards Joshua, even going so far as to accuse the British fighter of using performance enhancing drugs in a shocking claim, from which his camp quickly distanced themselves.

And while Parker’s promoter, David Higgins of Duco Events, warned his fighter to avoid such legally unwise allegations, he’s not exactly been kind to Joshua either.

As he aimed to ramp up interest and get the lucrative fight made, Higgins suggested that Joshua was mentally weak and had a glass chin which would be exposed by Parker.

So when the time came to sit at the same table with Joshua at the first press conference, Higgins was not going to get away with brushing his insults under the rug.

Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn reminded Higgins of his comments when both fighters and their promotional teams gathered before reporters on Tuesday afternoon and the conversation got rather heated as Hearn ordered  Higgins to stand by his claims.
