Cormier has been forced to withdraw from the fight due to injury. broke the story in the early hours of Saturday morning and it was later confirmed by MMA Fighting via multiple sources.

Cormier v Jones II was scheduled to headline UFC 197 on April 23. At the time of writing, neither the UFC, Jones or Cormier have responded to the news, so it is not clear if Jones will remain in the main event, or how long Cormier will be out of action for.

Demetrious Johnson vs Henry Cejudo for the UFC flyweight title was the co-main event, but that could be bumped up to top of the bill.
