Adios...

Finally, it’s done.

After looking like they’d seen off Real Madrid and would keep David de Gea for at least another year, a deal to take the Spanish stopper to the Bernanbeu has reportedly been reached.

Already in Madrid to report for international duty with the Spanish squad, De Gea is said to have agreed personal terms well before today and has undergone a medical. Yet again, super agent Jorge Mendes was central to the deal between Real and United being completed.

Guillem Ballague told Sky Sports that the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper will join Real for a fee of £29m with Keylor Navas also agreeing to move to Manchester United.

Navas, the Costa Rican international, has been a popular figure during his short stay at the Bernabeu and is now expected to challenge Sergio Romero to be David de Gea’s permanent replacement at Old Trafford.

Manchester United supporters will be disappointed to see the Spaniard leave. In his time at Old Trafford he has developed into one of the world’s best goalkeepers, with his performances last season playing a significant part in returning Manchester United to the Champions League.
